- Name: Methylation class neurofibroma (plexiform)
- Description: The methylation class "plexiform neurofibroma" is based on tumours with the histological diagnosis of plexiform neurofibroma of the plexiform variant, either sporadic or associated with Von Recklinghausen's Disease (neurofibromatosis type 1). Plexiform neurofibromas have a slightly increased risk for malignant transformation. Cases of this class are most commonly located in the skin; median age is 13 years (age range 5 to 39). The copy number profile is flat except for a distinct segmental deletion of 17q11.2 covering the NF1 locus in up to 30% of cases.
