- Name: Methylation class Ewings sarcoma
- Description: The methylation class Ewings sarcoma" is based on tumours with a histological small blue round cell phenotype. Location is frequently skeletal, but extraskeletal sites may be prevalent; median age is 19 years (age range 3 to 66). Cases of this class consistently carry a gene fusion between TET- and ETS gene family members mostly resulting in a EWSR1-FLI1 fusion gene. A gain of chromosome 8 can be observed in up to 40% of cases.
